Uju
is of a Nigerian origin. She was 19 years old when she got admission in one of
the country’s leading universities. Being the only child, she was well taking
care of and advised to take her studies very serious. Uju never had a boy
friend before and she never thought of giving any guy the chance of becoming
one until she got her admission. She walked tall among her female folks each
time she is with them because she had her virginity still.
Though,
Uju believed in true love and one of her best movies were Titanic,
Romeo and Juliet, I find True Love etc. This portrays the passion
she had for love and she prayed almost all night wishing to fall in love some
day but it should be in the right hand.
After
her one year in the University, she met this guy whom happened to be her class
mates and they both became friends. They were fond of each other and liked each
other in crazy way. Uju fell for this guy whose name she never told me but she
said the guy was a year older than her! They
eventually started dating and the love was growing for the both of them.
Three
months later, Uju gave up her virginity to her first love in a very
romantic way and she became even more clicked with this guy after the
experience, “even up till now, I have never felt for any one the way I felt for
him” she narrated. They both became sex partners as they continued having sex
and Uju was pleased that she was having sex with someone she loved so much.
Six months
after their first sexual experience, Uju became pregnant and was confused on
what to do, remember she was still in the High school by this time. She became
scared and couldn’t tell anyone about it. Because of the kind of stress in the
country’s University, she lost the pregnancy through miscarriage!! “it was like
God helped me to take off the baby because I was scared of abortion” she
explained further. Her boy friend was happy and they both continued moving on
with care this time around.
Just
three months after that experience, she went to visit her first Love on this
faithful day in his apartment only to catch him with another girl!!! Can you
believe it? The girl was just 17 years old then. Uju couldn’t believe her eyes
and she collapsed!! When she finally got herself, she was filled with shock, the
greatest shock of her entire life. “Why could he have done that to me after I
gave him everything?” She lamented and asked.
Well,
she had to quit the guy but she is still living with the stigma of the wrong
choice and experience she had. I know you may be wondering where she went
wrong. Love issue is not what you joke with and it is a matter of
carefulness. When I asked Uju what made her liked the guy in the first place,
she said to me “I must admit that I got attracted to him because he was very
brilliant, he was respected in class. Just the fact that he was very brilliant
took me to him” can you see? She was infatuated not Love. We all have to be
careful.
