The impression created by you on your first date
would be long lasting in the mind of your lady. Your dress is an important
factor to consider if you want to impress your lady. Following are the tips to
choose the best dress to wear on your first date:
- Consider every detail- As men clothing is much simpler than that of women attire, it is necessary to pay attention to minute details. Most of the man’s wardrobe is made up with little things such as colour of your shirt, or the type of shoes. It is not all about trend and style. All you need is to appear clean, sharp and neat. This tells all about your good attitude towards self care.
- Avoid wearing a brand new dress. This would give your girl an impression that you are not being yourself. She might think that you are trying too hard to impress her.
- If it suits the venue of date then, you should wear one of your most favourite outfits in which you feel most comfortable. This will be a boost for your self confidence and helpful in reducing your anxiety.
- Clothes with basic fabrics will be a good option when matched with suitable shoes and jackets. If possible, try to wear earth tone colored clothes such as blue, black etc.
- If you want to go for denim, make sure that you go for nice casual shirt. Jeans and t-shirts are only suitable for a casual date such as a concert.
- The shoes you wear must go with your outfit. A complimenting pair of socks that matches both your outfit and shoes is a must.
- Avoid wearing accessories like earrings, or any chain in neck like dog tags. Most of the girls do not like them. A nice subtle watch would be fine.
- When it comes to fragrance, you must know that most of the girls are sensitive to fragrances. You should avoid wearing any loud fragrance. A subtle musky perfume is fine for your first date. Don’t overdo the body spray.
- Don’t forget to take a bath before you go out for a date. Make sure to clean shave yourself and brush your teeth properly.
- If you have not arranged your date and you don’t know about the venue, then, you should wear an outfit that is suitable for a range of occasions. A nice pair of trousers, a classy shirt and a designer jacket would be fine. Think in advance about the clothes and take your time to get ready. After all, it is your first date.

Well written article Mr Ajay. Nice outfit tips. I think choice of outfit remains a very big problem for so many men out there going for the first date. I shared this article for my fellow men out there to see and get the idea of what they should wear on first date.

Yeah, most guys really don't know how to dress on the first date. They most times over dress which creates negative impression on the lady's mind or they under dress which underestimate him from the lady. Great post Ajay, thanks.
