Long distance relationship is becoming rampant these days and many factors have led to this. In most cases, people who embark on long distance relationship crash out on the road. 1. Have it at the back of your mind that you’re embarking on a long distance relationship
I call this mind awakening. You have to know what long distance relationship entails, the difficulties, the risk and every other things long distance relationship generates before you embark on it. Failure to this do means you want to embark on a trip you never planned for and you know what it means…..failure!!!

2. Know each other very well
You both have to know each other very well before anything else. Don't assume to know each other but do know each other. Ask questions about the other person.

3. Call each other at least 3 times every day
This is not effective communication but calling each other at least 3 times daily helps to limit the ‘I miss you’ syndrome. If you both can afford more calling more than 3 times a day then, do so because it is far better.

4. Communicate effectively

5. Communicate with each others’ friends

6. Do things together often
I know that the both of you aren’t seeing each other but you both can still do things together often. For instance, the both of can decide to be watching certain programmes at the same time. And after watching these programmes, you both can pick up the cell phone or skype and discuss about the programme(s). It mustn’t really be programmes, it could be anything. 7. Learn to trust each other without questioning it

8. Visit often
You both can’t do without this! But in a situation where visiting often is very impossible, constant communication becomes the only option that can replace it. It is also very important you both exchange visit.

9. Talk about the future together
One thing I know for sure that helps any relationship keep going is the discussion of future together. The both of should share the hope and dream of tomorrow.

10. Hope is more important
You must have hope and forget about the risk of losing everything. If you constantly meditate on the risk of long distance relationship then, you both are likely going to always fight!! Remember that life itself is a risk so, you have nothing much to loss.

11. Pray
Don’t remove prayers from whatever you do. Remember to always pray to your own God. My own God is Jehovah God of the Christians and I pray to Him…Pray to your own God and commit your long distance relationship to Him

12. Recommend things for each other
This is the exciting part of it: at least, once in a week, you both should recommend something for each other. One of my readers who is on a long distance relationship told me that she and her partner usually recommend music and movies for each other each week and after it, they discuss about it using the email.
